Curriculum & Courses

At Kalāvāhini Dance Academy, we believe in a structured yet flexible approach to learning — nurturing both the serious student who aspires to formal qualifications and the passionate learner who simply wishes to enjoy the beauty of Bharatanatyam.

Structured Learning & Recognised Qualifications

As an academy affiliated with the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD), London, we offer students the opportunity to pursue internationally recognised dance certifications. These include:

  • KSEEB Examinations : Junior, Senior, and Vidwat (Proficiency) levels
  • ISTD Examinations : Grades 1–6, Intermediate, and Advanced levels

While examinations are optional, they provide valuable milestones in a dancer’s journey, with constructive feedback from examiners helping students refine their technique, artistry, and expression.

Beyond Exams : Building Skills for Life

Our curriculum goes beyond steps and sequences. It instils discipline, focus, and resilience while encouraging creativity and confidence. Preparing for an exam motivates consistent practice and goal-setting, while also building skills such as time management, problem-solving, and teamwork — qualities that serve students well in academics, careers, and life. For those pursuing dance professionally, qualifications enhance their portfolio and recognition within the dance community.
